“Ice Cream Social” at Miss Effie’s Cottage
In Livingston, there are many clubs and organizations for people of all ages to join. These groups provide so much for the community, especially during the holidays. They donate many things, but they are always giving their most precious commodity, their time. One of these outstanding organizations is the Polk County Garden Club. They have been serving Livingston since 1948. The Garden Club is hosting an “Ice Cream Social” for those interested in joining or learning more about the Polk County Garden Club. Head on over to this event on Tuesday, August 30th, from 2pm-4pm for some entertaining conversation while enjoying some ice cream delights.
The Polk County Garden Club is known by most for the adorable “Letters to Santa” event they host for kids during the holidays, but they are so much more than just that. This group of gardening enthusiasts meet monthly at Miss Effie’s Cottage to talk about plants, share gardening tips and have fun. They even host a Flower Show, have plant sales, and bring in interesting speakers.
This is a free event for all ages of people interested in gardening and learning about everything that goes with it. It doesn’t matter whether or not someone has two “green thumbs” and considers themselves an expert or if someone has never been able to keep a plant alive and knows they have a lot to learn. Everyone is welcome in this community club.
Livingston Specialty Merchant’s Guild and Livingston Main Street invite visitors and locals alike to see how we #livlocal at this event in the historical district. Feel free to hit the town to shop, dine, or play before or after enjoying this “Ice Cream Social" with the Polk County Garden Club.
